If The Crown Fits....

They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, "Hail! King of the Jews!" (Matthew 27:29 NLT)




             A crown of prickly thorns for a sovereign and holy KING. It's very strange and out of order. but in order for YOU to be free the roles had to switch.


We have all heard and recited the scripture John 3:16 " For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.... and so on.." We say this, we repeat this, but do we UNDERSTAND??! We were separated from GOD, but because of the overwhelming and unending love He has for YOU he sent His SON who sat at His right hand in all His glory, A KING! , A KING WITH  KINGDOM FAR GREATER THAN ANY EMPIRE BUILT ON THIS WORLD, to make himself lower than the very beings he created TO DIE.


               There have been many great kings of the past but HE SURPASSED THEM ALL by actually dying for HIS people that WE may have LIFE.

What is this LIFE that Jesus died to give you ?

A life free from the yoke of slavery. Free from the reign of the enemy. FREE from the punishment that is deserved by us. The punishment that JESUS took for you, all the way to the cross. The crown of thorns was meant for ME and YOU but LOVE rescued us. Love gave us a crown like His. LOVE pulled us into a ROYAL family. LOVE said ....." They stumble because they do not obey God's Word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are ROYAL priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light........( 1Pet 2:9).

What's In Your Bag?

Ladies most of us carry some type of bag. Whether it's a purse, a backpack, a clutch, a wristlet etc.  As women we are always carrying something! We also differ in how we carry it. We carry it on our arm, our shoulders, our back, our palms, or attached to our wrist. Sometimes even two or three ways. The point is we ALL carry baggage.


We love our bags from either famous designers, prestigious boutiques, or local department stores. In some bag there are many compartments that go deeper than the basic part of the bag. Some hidden and some more visible. We can visibly see our day to day bags we carry with us on our daily routine but usually cant recognize the baggage we carry in our hearts.


WHAT DO YOU MEAN? How Is baggage carried in my heart?

                       by letting your past situations effect your current circumstances....

 "..........let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us". (Hebrews 12:1)


Some of the issues we carry ourselves and others can visibly see, like that big open part of your bag. Stuff like your attitudes that you grew because some guy broke your heart. So your all on social media posting and reposting talking about " they aint this and they aint that" " All men are dogs". Or because someone from your childhood made you feel like you weren't good enough by either your appearance or your actions. So you begin to act out for attention, being loud to get noticed, wearing revealing clothing tighter than your own skin to your bones JUST so that you can get 100 likes or more that makes you feel worth something.

Girl, RECOGNIZE YOUR WORTH. AND RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR FREE! You hear the term "let it go" and YES its easier said than done. But you have to allow GOD to come into your heart and prune your heart of those past issues. You have to let him heal those holes. GOD IS A HEALER. HE IS A DELIVERER!


Then it's those issues that we even hide from ourselves. Like those hidden compartments we lose a lot of stuff in! Those are the ones that mess me up personally! Those so called "little" things. Jealousy in our hearts, lack of self-control, gossiping about what this person's doing, buried hate towards those who hurt us physically and emotionally, secret hatred towards our own appearances.  We try to tell ourselves " I'm Good". As women, we like to portray that everything is fine. It's the quality that is built inside our very DNA! But we have to get to a point where we FULLY surrender to GOD and ask him to search our hearts and reveal anything in us that is not like Him. Anything in us that "slows us down" and keeps us from going higher and who He himself has called us to be.

I'm not saying everything will go away immediately. It's a process that we have to remain faithful through and trust GOD and believe He is who HE IS! HE IS A HEALER! HE IS OUR COMFORTER! HE IS OUR DELIEVER! HE IS OUR STRONG TOWER! HE IS OUR RESCUER! HE IS YOUR FIRST LOVE!  His love is what freed us. YOUR FREE!!!

Carrying heavy baggage hurts. I know it does girl.  It causes us to not sit up straight. To walk lopsided.  GET THAT JUNK OUT OF YOU SO YOU CAN WALK RIGHT!

We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us. (2 Corinthians 1:10

What is your walk?  We pass by people everyday. Knowing some & some unfamiliar. When you see either walk past, what does it say about them? I know your thinking " You cant judge who a person is simply by the way they walk"?! In reality, people get ALL they need to know about who YOU are by your walk.

Before you think to argue, I'm not referring to your physical walk that you do with your legs. I'm talking about your SPRITUAL walk! Your day to day ways of conducting yourself by your WORDS and ACTIONS.

Do the things you say reflect Christ? Does your actions encourage others toward Him. The Christian band Sidewalk Prophets have a track that is titled " Live Like That" where the lyrics say" People pass & even if they don't know my name, is there EVIDENCE that I've been changed? When they see me do they see you? I want to live like that and give all I have so that everything I say and do points to YOU"!. What powerful lyrics and even more powerful if we play this out in our day to day lives. ESPECIALLY IN OUR WARDROBE!


Walk in the new identity given to you by Christ. Walk in EVIDENCE that you are the Prov 31 you desire to be!
