If you look at Romans 12:1, it reads " And so my dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you, let them be a living and HOLY sacrifice --- the kind he will find acceptable". So the question is " How can I exemplify holiness by my wardrobe"?
What Do You Think When Your Picking Out Clothes At Your Local Forever 21, H&M, Departments Stores, and local Boutiques? Are you thinking how will this make my body look? Does this show off as much as I want? Does it snug me in the right area, to emphasize the right curve? Will this guy think I'm sexy? Will this show people have much money I have or dont?. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? Your thought life determines your actions in EVERYTHING! Paul goes on to say in Romans 12:2, " DON'T copy the behavior and customs of this world, but (instead) let GOD transform you into a new person by changing the way you THINK. Then you will learn God's will for you which is good, pleasing, and perfect".
What the world sees as GORGEOUS and what GOD see as GORGEOUS are total opposites. The world views beauty as " less clothing, more appeal". We see this by looking at today's "popular" women in society. Let's just be honest here. We're sisters right? The world Says " Show me your body, and you will have it ALL"! But God's view of beauty is very different. He shows us his view by this one famous scripture that we all love to quote, " Charm is deceitful, and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised". (Prov 31:30) Back track and start at verse 10 on down and he gives you an amazing portrait of the woman He has called YOU, let me say this again... YOU to be!!!
Many have claimed they want to be her and even that they are her. But who exactly is this famous woman of no name?
She is [ insert you name here ], The woman portrayed in the chapter has AMAZING abilities. She is actually not just one woman but a composite portrait of godly womanhood. She is INSPIRATION! Inspiration to be ALL you can be in Christ, even in your wardrobe! All of her qualities topped with her deep reverence for GOD, make up a dynamic woman of success, honor, & worth!
So now that you know your IDENTITY in CHRIST, and who he has called you to be, you can allow Him to change you from the inside out!
What I mean is. you won't just think different about your choices of dress overnight! It's a matter of the heart. I didn't just wake up and say I'm going to stop wearing skirts that look more like cut- off shorts with the inside hem taken out, LOL. I surrendered to GOD and told Him to change my thought process. I ultimately had an identity crisis! I didn't know who I was! I didn't know I was bought with a HIGH price with the blood of a sinless KING! I didn't know I was the daughter of the most HIGH! I didn't know I was a PRINCESS, better yet a QUEEN, My mindset had to get RENEWED. I had to change the way I saw myself in the mirror.
THIS WAS CREATED BECAUSE MY HEART BURDENS FOR MY SISTERS WHO DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE, AND WHAT THEY CAN BE. THIS WAS CREATED TO GIVE TIPS ON BUILDING A WARDROBE THAT SHOWS YOU CAN BE FIERCE, FABULOUS, AND CHRIST-LIKE AT THE SAME TIME!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! [ 2 Cor. 5:17]
