A Beautiful Heart....

BEING DOLLED UP ON THE OUTSIDE BUT EMPTY AND DARK ON THE INSIDE.

         When you looked at a Barbie doll as a child, you looked at her as the most beautiful girl in the world. She had perfect hair, perfect eyes, the best clothes, she even had a good looking man on her arm. For the past century, the Barbie has been the example to many young girls & women as the "perfect female". Now I know your looking like " REALLY"? She's just a doll though. She's not real. YOUR ABSOLUETLY RIGHT! Although at an early age, we all got an idea of what gorgeous should look like. An idea that blossmed into the actions we carried on into our adolescent years of standing in front of mirrors for hours creating an image. Time in department stores shopping to find a look of a famous celebrity, playing the mental comparison game. We ALL have done it.

          The world focuses on the outside & rejects perfecting the inside. We all know that all because it shines like gold doesnt mean its gold. Manufactures today can make any piece of cheap plastic look like two of the most prized stones in the world, diamonds and pearls. They can gloss it, they can cut it, paint it any color they want and make it look like the real thing ; but it's still a hollow cheap piece of plastic.

         WHAT DO YOU PUT MORE TIME AND EFFORT INTO? YOUR INSIDE OR YOUR OUT? Did you know that your Father doesnt care about all of that?! .......But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." ( 1 Samuel 16:7). There is nothing wrong with taking care of physical appearance. That's what this whole thing (blog) is about! But the in should match the out.  I SPENT YEARS TRYING TO PERFECT MY " I GOT IT ALL TOGETHER" LOOK.  I wore tons of makeup, not because I like makeup, but because I thought I needed those things to be looked at as beautiful. I wore form fitting clothes, that looked more like a second skin, not because I liked them, but because I desired love, attention, and popularity. All of this derived from an " inside" issue in my heart called : LOW SELF-ESTEEM. MY HEART WASNT RIGHT. I HAD THE LOOK TOGETHER BUT MY HEART WAS UGLY. As women, we try hard to control how we are seen to ultimately make ourselves BELIEVE  everything is all good.

This issue was so heavy on my heart. Dont look at me as if I have it all together or think I do. i challenge us both on becoming DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS inside and out. We must do this by allowing GOD to come into your heart and dwell there so he can do a heart surgery! Let Him change you! let him slowly shine His light and reveal the darkness in our hearts, even those ones curled up in the very depths. Those issues that we try to "make-up". NOTHING CAN BE HIDDEN FROM HIM AND THERE IS NOTHING HE CANT FIX. He cares for you and sees you as beautiful! I mean you were created in His image.
